Introducing my biggest venture yet (plus summer state of the union)

For the last few weeks, on my daily email list, I’ve on-and-off teased about a new business venture I’ve started up.

Well, today’s August 1st, a new month has crossed over, and our target launch is September…so it’s time to shed some light on something that I’m very excited about.

I’m proud to announce that I’ve partnered with my friend Martin to create:

We’re bringing Croatia’s finest olive oil from his grandparent’s farm to North America.

(Yes, that’s it you see in the image above, in it’s pure, “off-the-DHL-plane” form)

The first 1,000 liters made it. We hope to start shipping in September.

Why this, you ask?

I started Dropshipping, had some success, but I was bored with the junk from China I was selling.

Martin and I worked on small projects before, and this olive oil is something I can get behind.

We may even offer other Croatian/Adriatic/Balkan oils and products down the road, but let’s walk before we run.

It also has some meaning to me. I love Eastern Europe, but I cannot imagine ever doing business here.

This is an opportunity to bring a high quality, niche, and difficult to get product to Western households, tying the two worlds together. Martin has an even deeper connection to the region, which I’m sure we’ll share more of in the coming weeks and months.

It’s also an opportunity to leverage the great platform I’ve built for the last 5+ years. It’s a perfect fit.

I also have to say, having done the online info product stuff for years, I was inspired tremendously by Chris Johnson’s company, Seventeenth Watches.

He leveraged his online world into a physical product.

Once Martin told me he was importing the olive oil, I was hooked.

What does this mean for you?

Nothing is changing in the world of “Trouble”, except I’ll now have even more business inspiration from the olive oil business to draw from for this blog, and any future products. My “Girlfriend Blueprint” course is still in the works and I’m aiming to launch once I return home from Ukraine. And in addition, I’m revamping both Noob and Pro Niche Site courses and will have them open soon enough.

Of course, it also means that if you’d like some 100% authentic Croatian olive oil, I’ll also be able to sell that to you.

I will not lie.

This is going to be difficult, and I’m certainly ready to encounter many difficulties along the way.

But this is also a “big move”.

Information products are fantastic, but physical products like this – it’s a whole other ballgame. Potentially, a very lucrative long term, lifelong company sort of ballgame.

I am naturally nervous about what’s ahead but also incredibly excited.

Anyways, that’s all for now.

Keep causing Trouble, and….well, thank you for being along for the ride, as always.

I always knew you were a slippery character… 🙂

I can drive to my local supermarket and buy imported olive oil from Italy in a glass jar. For a fair price.

I see the benefits of owning a brand, but I just don’t see this as a good market. Best of luck though and I will be following along.

Good, you’re the worst kind of customer anyway.

I completely disagree. I use olive oil as a healthy and natural fat and nutritional additive when I do meal prepping for the week.

I heard about the healthy benefits of real olive oil and found out that many brands commonly sold in stores have little of the benefits of the better ones and aren’t processed the same way.

Even for “good” ones in stores, I still can’t be totally confident about what I’m getting.

I’m willing to bet others are the same – just like other product reviews, there’s a market for people seeking out what’s best and they’d like to buy it.

The “Wal-Mart” type crowd might not be interested, sure. However, lots of people aren’t looking for the cheapest product, but the best.

It take a mindset with that understanding to find opportunities out there for making money.

Best of luck, Kyle! It sounds like a nice venture.
