Don’t Move Abroad For The Cheap Beer

Came an email from an aspiring skirt-chaser and pivo-chugger:

“I dream of being in Eastern Europe one day with those naturally beautiful girls and tasty, cheap beer. Thank you for all the content, I certainly appreciate it. It would be great if you could tweet about how you learned copy-writing, the process etc. I’m about to invest in 10 hard copy books on the topic if you had any suggestions that’d be awesome.”

First off, moving for cheap beer is an absolutely terrible idea.

Do not do it.

Lemme say again:

Cheap beer is the worst reason EVER to move abroad.

Seriously, don’t do it for that.

You will be sick of it within months and mad at yourself.

Also, it’s not tasty. Most places in EE have horrible beer, Czech Republic being the one exception (but again, you’ll get real sick of it real quick…). Majority of them taste like Coors Light with an added dose of piss. The result is stuff that gets ya drunk real quick but feeling awful the next morning (your gut will hate you, too).

He also mentioned the beautiful girls, but you won’t want to be going and drinking cheap beer with them. Most of them won’t to begin with – they’ll stick with cocktails or wine. But, drinking copious amounts of cheap beer is generally seen as “low-class” (because it is) in Eastern Europe.

You have been warned…

Whew, now that that’s out of the way.

People like to yammer on about hand-copying sales letters, reading dozens of books, etc, etc. Reality is, until you just start putting some work out there and writing yourself, you aren’t going to get anywhere. Reading dozens of books (even 10) before applying anything is just advanced mental masturbation.

Highly suggest you just pick one book (Boron Letters or Ca$hvertising, or get on Ben Settle’s email list), and then go from there.

I can’t suggest 10 copywriting books because I haven’t read 10.

Action, not mental gymnastics.

Anywho, that’s my $0.02.
