Admitting Failure

My first attempt at publishing an eBook has basically been a complete flop.  Since I released it at a discounted price to my This Is Trouble readership a few weeks ago, I’ve sold a whopping one copy.

Yeah, one.

This was while it was on sale, meaning I got like $3.57 after paying Clickbank their fee.  I make more off of Amazon and various other book referrals every day than that.

Unfortunately, I didn’t time it well.  I released it right after I got back, which is the exact same time that I decided I wanted to move to New York City.  So naturally, I have been less than enthused about promoting the book, running the Twitter account, and the product in general.  As much as I love San Diego in some ways (weather, weather, and weather), I think I’ve simply had enough of the city.  It is time to move on to bigger and better things.

Now, I’m not throwing in the towel on the SDNL website and book, yet.  I have some followers from major clubs and other downtown promoters and DJs now, so eventually it will grow.  It is just a matter of putting in the work, which I, uh, don’t really want to do.  Too many other projects on the mind; a new book, a new website, trying to learn the stock markets, and trying to help my girl get her tutoring business off the ground with a website.

I plan on finally wrapping up the travel series this week.  Admittedly, I’m starting to get burned out a bit on it, and I think judging by the views – you readers are too.  I do hope you guys have enjoyed hearing about all my adventures, but I’m sure you miss my usual debauchery.

So, look for another post on Prague and then New York with Holly, and then I have some cool shit to share later on in the week.

  1. I must admit, I didn’t even know you had a book out. I’ll check it out. Kind of scary reading this, as I’m putting the finishing touches to mine. You’ve probably sold one more copy than I will :0/
