The Longest Trip EVER to Canada Begins

Greetings from the city center of Brussels, where I’m hanging out for the next couple of days. More thoughts on the city, food, culture, and more coming early this week (when I take the train to Frankfurt).

But, I do want to say this…

Today, I realized I have spent the last year in Eastern Europe. Literally, an entire year. The last “Western” country I was in was the States for Christmas in 2017. In 2018, I was in Prague, Serbia, Ukraine, and Hungary. That’s it. So you can imagine it’s a bit strange to be in a more Westernized place where things are clean, all the cars are nice…yeah, not gonna lie, it’s sort of nice.

After that, I’ll head onward to Germany, where I’m flying on Lufthansa Business Class to Seattle. I’m excited to try this airline, as I’ve never flown them. Once in Seattle, I’ll hop on a ferry to get to my final destination in Canada, where I’ll be putting on the Selo LIVE Experience for Selo Oils on January 22nd.

Why am I doing this?

I don’t really know.

Mostly, because I feel like I didn’t travel as much as I would have liked last year, and I’m trying to make up for it.

That, and because I wanted a reasonably direct business class flight, and not to have to connect three or four times just to make it from Kiev.

So I figured I’d tack a bit of tourism on to it.

But, yes, this is probably one of the longest and most roundabout ways of ultimately getting there.

Sometimes though, they say the journey is more important that the destination, or something like that.

I’ll be documenting a lot of the trip on Instagram, so make sure you follow me on there if you want to see the sights alongside Yours Troubly.

Here’s my new Instagram, since IG wiped my old one away at 13,000 followers and refuses to tell me why…
