Episode #84: An Epic Rant On Men *Actually Having Standards*

In episode #84 of Troublesome Radio, I talk about my recent Twitter threads that got quite a bit of attention.

It’s also worth noting that I did write a nearly 2,000 word post on the same issue. This podcast was much more of a very epic rant.

Thread #1

Thread #2

If you Google, “What men want in a relationship”, it’s full of bad advice from women trying, with good intentions, to help each other out. Well, this podcast is for both:

  1. The men out there who are looking for the absolutely BEST in life, and willing to make endless sacrifices for that.
  2. The women who are truly feminine, looking to improve, and wanting to find the best man they can. If you are a girl who likes the idea of a career, loves cats, or is fat or generally unpleasant—you’ll hate this show. Don’t listen (even though I know you will anyway).

What men want in a relationship is actually quite simple, once you filter past all of the bullshit. I believe these ten things that I randomly jotted down and tested on Twitter are the truth.

I firmly think that if most men followed this guidelines and found a woman who was on board, the majority of them would find then classify themselves as “very happy.”

Here are the ten things men should demand for women:

  1. Must be easygoing
  2. Must be able to cook, or at least working on that
  3. Has your back, holds grudges on your enemy
  4. Has opinions and knows when it’s appropriate to speak them
  5. Knows how to give you space

As for the other five – you’ll have to listen to find out!

    Dear Sir,

I really enjoyed Episode #84 on your podcast. Can’t not understand why you are receiving so much hate for having a standard and guess I am confused about it.

I appreciate the fact you touched on the Mom did not teach her to cook as I was told to, “Stay out of my kitchen.” at a young age. But because I was always willing to learn new things, my hubby taught me a few, and with my new cookbooks in hand, I was not only teaching myself, but later had a mentor mother of 11 children from another state continue to teach me for a few years. I will always be grateful to Marmee now a grandmother of many grand-kids!

To many times in the past while sitting with a woman while the kids played would brag she could NOT cook. And I would always to give her a very strange look. When asked what I did, I gave a small humble list which included preserving jellies. She looked at me wide eyed and said, “Isn’t that what old people do?” I was stunned!

I guess I am too old to understand women today. I don’t even get them and I’m a girl! Please let men know there are gals that DO know how to cook, care for themselves, DON’T like drama, are chill, feminine, and are willing to learn/know how to cook with a smile on their faces. A few are not even on social media. One I know has makes her own pizza dough, and still another that cooks a mean lamb stew. I have met them!

I agree with you, we should have standards. My husband says most women act like they are still in jr. high or high school, and continue to have this mentality. This is sad, and yet very disturbing. Is it wrong to think my mom being on several medications scary?

I LOVE being a homemaker. Bringing up the future is so important to us!!

Thanks for reading! (smiles) Have a wonderful day!!!
