Review of Grouper services.
As mentioned here, I went on a Grouper last night. It was a 3 on 3 blind date. The field report is coming next, but I want to take this post to talk about what exactly Grouper is. Basically, you join Grouper using your Facebook account. They approve you, assuming you are cool. Then, they start setting up “Groupers” for you. A Grouper is you and two friends meeting another group of three friends. A massive blind date. Disaster waiting to happen, right?
You pay a $20 fee and this includes setting the Grouper up and the first round of drinks at the club. Grouper picked out a nice, upscale lounge for the meeting. The $20 got us some nice cocktails that were around the $15 price range. So essentially, I paid $5 for the chance to meet three girls. Unfortunately, none of them were cute. You can read more about it in the field report.
I guess that’s the risk for the blind date. Personally, I would rather take my $20, buy cheap drinks, and hit on girls I actually find cute. However, that’s not to say I wouldn’t do it again. The girl Brittany who works at Grouper was very helpful in coordinating and setting everything up.
